Hello internets! It has been a while.

I've been keeping busy with GoComics cell phone conversion work, and have been working on a video game with GoComics as well. Also, Propaganda Inc. was kind enough to give me some concept/storyboarding work. They're great people to work with.

I found a old piece of concept art in a book, and decided to finish it up for a warm up piece.

Here it is.

Um.. There's obviously an assumption of some pretty serious gravity control at work here. I probably should of put bumpers on the cargo boxes that the little train like thing is carrying, or link them together with a more rigid manner than a cable tether. It would kind of suck if it had to slow down in mid air.

And here's a page from the CELESTIAL book I and the ever-talented Sean Demory are working on.

The halftones are not accurately reflecting the final, and if you are seeing moire (weird patterns) it's definitely not in the real version. Anyway. We're still playing the publisher waiting game with this one. I need to start getting more proactive.

I think that's about it for now. I'm staying busy. Go team me.

(edit) there may be problems with comments, due to the blogger/google conversion. So. Yeah.

Hey...

My name is Joel and I run Astrokitty Comics & More in Lawrence, KS! I've begun organizing DRINK & DRAW events like the ones Dave Johnson holds on the West Coast. Our first few have been in Lawrence, but we're doing a big one in the KC area in January! January 19th to be precise! That is a Friday...and we'll be meeting at the 75th St. Brewery in KC to hang out and draw, drink, and hopefully engage in some good-natured debauchery! I would love if you and all other comic creators (writers and artists alike...because most of those who can't draw, WILL draw after a few drinks) in the Kansas City area would come out for this event! We got some local coverage here in Lawrence when we did our first one and this one should be even bigger! We'll provide drawing surfaces...you bring the drawing tools and money for booze! Don't drink? Come on out anyway and be someone's designated driver and still have fun drawing and drinking Shirley Temples!

Check out http://www.astrokittycomics.com for more info in our NEWS section!

Seriously...this is going to be an awesome event and I hope everyone creating in the area can and will make it! Please tell your friends!
