San Diego: The Bloodening

So I went to the San Diego Comic Con. Went better than I thought it would. Fraction, DeConnick, and McCubbin were an amazing help, introducing me to great people and salving my wounded pride when I didn't get selected for the DC talent search.

Speaking of that, though, I spoke at length with Matthew Clark, who each gave me solid pointers regarding what I needed to do to make my stuff more "mainstream" and inker-friendly. They said I was real close, though. So that's a plus.

I roomed with Hector Casanova, who was a delightful roomie, and we hung out a lot with Travis Fox and Daniel Spottswood, who are also good people. Oaken men of quality, the lot of them.

There was a lot of good reaction to the Five Fists of Science preview Matt and I brought to the con. Joey Cavaleri at DC seemed impressed by it, and Joes Casey and Kelly, and Duncan Rouleau liked my work, and were nice friendly guys to boot.

I interviewed with Origin Studios, and their rep, Chad, liked my work, and said they were likely to contact me for work in the future. Also got to meet Jeremy Love, who I had been working with for a while now. Great guy.

Also met a bunch of people I had only talked to online, who are too numerous to go into at the moment.
So! Hey! Kind of frightening, talking to all the strange people, but pretty good! Thumbs up.
