Korean Popeyes commercial.

I'd include a screen shot (of the bizarre, stoic bird observing all from its hiding place), but I cant get window media player to take a screenshot. I tired shift-print screen and just print screen, and I just get a blank field where the video should be.

Anyway, enjoy. No art today.

Why I oftentimes strongly dislike working at the library:

Me: "(standard greeting giving name of library and offer to help patron)"

Lady on phone: "You got that Bill Clinton book?"

Me: "...." "Can you be more specific? What Bill Clinton book?"

LoP:"That one about Bill Clinton."

Me: (figuring she probably means the autobiography that's coming out, but, by God, I shouldn't have to prod people like they're toddlers )"You mean the one he wrote?"

LoP: "Yeah."

Me: "Okay".

I might be one of the few people that thinks this stuff is cool, but NOAA has a really nice website with realtime or at least frequently updated weather satellite photos.

Click to enlarge photo. This is typhoon Dianmu, currently in the northwest pacific.

A page with Daily Significant Event imagery is here.

Main GOES satellite imagery page is here.

5FoS:

Steam powered gatling dart gun. Steam drives it and acts as propellant for darts. You can see the boiler and coal furnace at the bottom, and the coal bin in front of it. Water can to the left.

I've been trying to find out what they would have used for an animal tranquilizer around 1900, (for a label on the dart hopper. I may be overdoing this. ) but have been coming up empty. If anyone has any idea, Id be endebted to you. Closest I could find was a sodium bromide broth.

(gone now: Massive auction of japanese console games and dev kits, including ten zillion designer console variants. Starting bid $100,000. )

SAND!:Holy shit. No. I just spent my last $50,000 on smack.

Dan:It's just as well; the armchair lawyers on slashdot are convinced that customs would seize most-to-all of that stuff before it ever saw US soil. Plus, those dev kits are technically still the property of the respective companies.

SAND!:However, why the hell do the japanese get all the cool stuff?

Dan:Because of the Bataan Death March?

SAND!: Sounds fair. We get our soldiers committing suicide by drowning themselves in outdoor latrines, and they get Hello Kitty Dreamcasts.

Dan: Was that as much fun to type as it was for me to read?

SAND!: I'm going to say "yes".

Interesting Salon.com article on Cerebus and Bone here.

You may need to watch an advert or jump through a hoop or something if you dont subscribe already.
